Steps to make website appear in Google search

Displaying blog/website in search engine is very important, because search engines drives 80% of traffic to blogs/website. Once you create fresh blog/website follow these steps to add  Google search. This SEO(search engine optimization) method is applicable to all Blogs/Websites hosted on Blogger,Wordpress,Typepad or any other platform.

1) First step for Blogger platform make sure,"Settings-->Basic--Let search engine find your blog?" option enabled.

2) If the blog hosted on Blogger platform, follow this URL & ping your blog to Google directory.
3) For non blogger platform websites/blogs click here to add.

Performing Googlebot will tell how URL appear in Google search. Here we show how to execute Googlebot for any Blogs/Websites. This method is common for all platforms like Blogger,Wordpress,Typepad etc...

1)Log in to Google Webmaster Tools
2)If you have created blogger(.blogspot.com) site using the same Gmail ID your blog appears automatically     else you need to add manually. Click on "Add a site" to add blog/site manually. Manually added blogs or sites requires verification. Follow the instructions once you add a site its very simple (Best is way is verifying  through a meta tag)

3)Click on Fetch Googlebot present at the left side & the click on "Fetch" button, Google will fetch URL.

4)Later the Site URL appears like this,
5)Click on "Submit to Index",URL will be submitted to index.

In addition to the above steps, we should also add Sitemap to Google using webmaster tools, by doing this your site/blog will be more optimized for Google search. this is common for all the blogger platforms like Blogger,Wordpress,Typepad etc..
Note: Submitting sitemap to blogger is not mandatory, because google will have a default sitemap for blogger, however its good if you submit.

1)Go to Dashboard, click on Submit a Sitemap, add your sitemap.

Sitemap should point to RSS or Atom XML file & it should not redirect to any other third party services like FeedBurner. In that case Googlewebmaster will throw 404 error. also a red color cross mark symbol appears next to feed URL.

2) To avoid redirection sitemap like this "feeds/posts/default?redirect=false".
Many places in the internet says "feeds/posts/default?orderby=updated" format will work. No it didn't work for me, my URL didn't get indexed after adding 24 hours.so i removed and used the later format.

More information about site map is available here

Once Google crawl URL successfully , here how the sitemap status looks.

3) Clicking on the Sitemap URL, you will get detailed information about the Sitemap, like submitted date, downloaded date etc...Also you can resubmit sitemap any time.
