Still some of you may be getting promotional SMS or calls from Telemarketing companies, its because you have not enabled Do Not Disturb service on your mobile. to activate DND you have to just send an SMS i.e DND START 1909 (Toll free number)
What happens if you activate DND on your mobile?:
You will not recevive any SMS from Online SMSing services like Way2SMS,160by2 etc..
You will not receive any promotional calls,pesky calls or SMS like TD-0888,LM-0099 etc...
Note: TRAI has given exemption for certain services like receiving bank balance, recharge confirmation messages etc..So in these cases even if you enable for DND service, you will continue to receive messages for your
What TRAI has told to online SMS Providers?:
1) Previously whenever you receive SMS from online SMS providers like Way2SMS,160by2 etc.. sender mobile number use to display in your inbox, now its not. TRAI asked online SMS providers to add unique ID Eg: TD-1998,LM-9009
2) No group messaging from Online SMSing websites everyday between 9AM to 9PM. NO SMS facility is available in Way2SMS,160by2 etc...online SMS portals between 9PM to 9AM every day.
3) If your friend send SMS from Way2sms,160by2 or any other website,you will not receive SMS until you deactivate the DND service. for disabling DND you need to send SMS DND STOP 1909 (Toll free number).
